What Is Animal Cruelty?
Animal cruelty generally falls into two categories: neglect, or intentional cruelty. Neglecting an animal usually includes: starvation, dehydration, lack of shelter, infestation, failure to take animal in for veterinary care, allowing collar to grow into the skin of the animal, lack of space, and more.
Animal Cruelty occurs all over the world. Whether it is right out in the open, or behind close doors, animal cruelty is a huge issue around the world. A lot of people witness people being cruel towards animals, but unfortunately they don't do anything about it. It could be a complete stranger, a neighbour, a friend, or maybe even a relative.
Animal abuse is not acknowledged but is tolerated in some countries. Meaning no one encourages people to go ahead and abuse animals, but they don't necessarily prevent it from happening. Some people disagree with animal cruelty but they do nothing to help prevent it, they tend to disregard themselves from it whenever they witness it happening.

What you can do to help
If you ever witness any animals being abused here are a few things you can do:
- REPORT IT - You can report any abuse to the authorities or any local humane societies.
- CONFRONT THEM - Maybe the person abusing the animal you may have a relationship with, try confronting them.
- ADOPT - Abuse may also occur at a pound that you've witnessed, try adopting the animal to save a life.
- VOLUNTEER - Try volunteering at a less unfortunate humane society that is low on staff to help out with the animals in poor conditions.
- DONATE - Even a small donation can help animals in need and help make a difference.
- PETITION - Sign an online petition to the Mayor to help raise awareness of the cause.
